Background of the issue:
I am experiencing database issues and performance problems with a website that we have developed. After extensive checks, we realized that WPML is consuming all the resources of the hosting, causing the site to go into resource overload. This problem has arisen in the last few days, and the site was previously performing well. Deactivating WPML returns the site to normal performance.

Symptoms:
WPML is causing the database to consume all hosting resources, leading to site performance issues and resource overload.

Questions:
How can I resolve the database resource consumption issue caused by WPML?
What steps can I take to prevent WPML from overloading my hosting resources?

I am writing to infomar you that we proceeded to make a rollback at the time the problems were not present.
Avoid making any WPML update.
But I want to add that I find it simply absurd, also from the technical point of view that we talk about compatibility with other plugins. Surely some plugins can create conflicts, but the lack of compatibility does not necessarily imply conflicts.
In the specific case, however, we deactivated everything and the problem was actually caused by WPML.
Good day

Hello Alexander,

thanks for contacting us.

1) Go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial > Click “Check for updated" and update WPML plugins to latest versions and check if the issue still happens.

Please make sure to create a backup, before doing any actions, just in case.

2) If issue still happens, then it would be good to check further which plugin compatibility issue is this, so we can continue and hopefully fix the issue.

I suggest the following next steps:

- Make sure you have a backup.
- Disable all other plugins and leave active only WPML plugins
- Switch to WP default theme, as we are not able to support custom themes
- Check if the issue still happens. If not, try to activate plugins in smaller groups to find which one is causing it.

Let me know how it goes and if the issue still happens with only WPML plugins and WP theme.

Regards,
Drazen
