This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to update the footer translation using the WPML plugin. After translating and saving the footer, it disappeared from the translation management, and the client could not update it. Additionally, the link in the translated footer still pointed to the document in the original language.
Solution:
1. We confirmed that the English footer displayed correctly but noted that the Contact Form 7 part was still untranslated. We recommended following the steps in this guide: Using Contact Form 7 with WPML.
2. We noticed that the 'Not Completed' filter was active in WPML >> Translation Management, which hid completed translations. We advised clicking the 'Clear Filters' button to view all items.
3. To address the issue with the incorrect document link:
- We navigated to WPML >> Translation Management.
- Hovered over the Global Footer template and clicked on the 'Edit' link.
- Opened the translated template and updated the Terms and Conditions link.
- Pressed the 'Update' button to apply changes.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the footer of my website using the WPML plugin. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I expected the footer to be in English.

Symptoms:
The footer is in English, but I am unable to update it. After translating and saving the footer, it disappears from the translation management, and I cannot update it.

Questions:
Why does the footer template disappear from translation management after I translate and save it?
How can I update the footer template after translating it?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support.

1. I visited your site, and the English footer seems to be displaying correctly. For the Contact Form 7 part that’s still untranslated, please follow the steps in this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/using-contact-form-7-with-wpml/

2. I watched your video and noticed the “Not Completed” filter is active in WPML >> Translation Management. Once a translation is completed, it no longer shows in that filtered view. Please try clicking the “Clear Filters” button to see all items again.

Kindly let me know the results,
Thank you

Thank you so much, Noman, all works well now.
I just got one issue

Normally in the footer, I got a text with a link. I could edit the link in the translator...and normally I should see this link:
hidden link

However, as you can see in the screenshot, this is still the document in french (hyperlink) that is displayed...

Glad to hear all works well now!

For the PDF link translation issue, could you please try to follow the suggestions from this thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/pdf-translated-through-media-translation-is-not-updated/#post-15932871 and see if this resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your site (preferably staging site), so that I can look into your setup and debug the issue.

Your next answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

=== Please backup your database and website ===

✙ I would additionally need your permission to deactivate and reactivate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is essential.

Thank you

Sorry for the delay, I was off during the weekend (Friday-Saturday). The login info is still not working for me, could you please take a backup of your site and deactivate any security plugin for a moment so that I can access your site.

Thank you for your cooperation

Thanks for the invitation. I followed the below steps:

1. Went to WPML >> Translation Management.
2. Hover over to the Global Footer template.
3. Click on the Edit link as you can see in the attached screenshot.
4. It loads the Footer template in default WP Editor, I noticed that WordPress Editor was enabled for that template.
5. Clicked on the pencil icon to open up the translated template.
6. Updated the Terms and condition link and pressed an Update button.

Now it shows the correct translation at frontend as you can see in the attached screenshot. Could you please check and confirm?

Thank you for your cooperation.

I followed the same steps which I shared above and edited the footer template in English language: hidden link, updated the link, and now it seems to be showing correctly at frontend. Could you please check and confirm?

Thank you
