This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was facing an issue with string translations not working on the front end in the Brooklyn theme, even though they were added in WPML -> Strings Translation.
Solution:
We resolved the issue by adding specific XML configuration in WPML -> Settings -> Custom XML Configuration. Here is the XML code you should add:

<wpml-config>
  <admin-texts>
    <key name="option_tree">
      </key><key name="ut_header_primary_extra_fields_max_2">
        <key name="*"></key>
      </key>
      <key name="ut_subfooter_copyright_text"></key>

  </admin-texts>
</wpml-config>

After adding this XML, you should also translate the strings in WPML -> Strings Translation. This solution is specific to the Brooklyn theme and has been escalated to our compatibility team for further investigation.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hi,

I could fix this issue on your site by adding the following XML in WPML -> Settings -> Custom XML Configuration.

<wpml-config>
  <admin-texts>
    <key name="option_tree">
      <key name="ut_header_primary_extra_fields_max_2">
        <key name="*" />
      </key>
      <key name="ut_subfooter_copyright_text" />
    </key>
  </admin-texts>
</wpml-config>

Then I also translated those strings in WPML -> Strings Translation. Now it is OK on the French version of your site. Please see the attached screenshots.

This specific problem with the Brooklyn theme has already been reported to us. The translations of the strings should work when added in WPML -> Strings Translation. However, the translation will not work on the front end unless the above XML code is added. The issue has been escalated to our compatibility team. We'll keep you updated here as soon as we have news about this problem.

I appreciate your patience.
Itamar.

HI,

I have translated some strings from English to French and even if I clean the cache it doesnt update on the website.

I want on the top over menu Fiches Techniques

I want the subfooter to be exactly like the english version but in french which was teanslated on your plugin from: COPYRIGHT@2025. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. | DESIGNED BY LIKAMARKETING

Also, there isnt right sync of English Main Menu to the French Main Menu ...

the side bar doesnt translate (see screenshot)

Please advise to get it working properly... Also I had to do alot of translation manually and the paid one I had to delete as it didnt make any sense of translation and nobody could understand the meaning in French language... so I spent money unecessary on translations.. I dont want automatically translations as it is very technical I have to do manually,

appreciate your support on this matter with certain urgency

thanks for now,
Elisangela

Hi, Elisangela.

In this ticket, we address the issue of strings from the Brooklyn theme. For other issues, we will need to split this ticket into separate tickets to handle one issue per ticket. For the menu and sidebar issue, please see this new ticket: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-sidebar-menu-sync-issue/

I tried to access your site, but received a 404 page for this link: hidden link. Please see the attached screenshot. So I can't access your site to check and hopefully fix the string issues. Please share the correct access link and access details. I'm enabling a private message for the following reply.

Regarding the quality of the translations, you wrote:

If you have used our PTC automatic translation engine, which I believe you did, please note that we offer a quality guarantee. You can read about it here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/quality-guarantee/. You can fill in the form at this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/quality-guarantee/translation-refunds/. Our automatic translation team will try to fix the translations; if not, you will get a refund.

Itamar.

Hi, Elisangela.

Thanks, now the access details work!

I went to WPML -> Strings Translation and searched for "Copyright@2025" because it appears in the footer of your site. I then edited the French translation and removed the part that you don't know. Please see the attached screenshot edit-footer-string.jpg. And now it is good on the frontend. Please see the attached screenshot footer-ok.jpg.

You wrote: "I want on the top over menu Fiches Techniques"
I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by that.
Is it a relevant issue -- the Brooklyn strings?

Regarding the other issues, please read my previous reply here:

Hi,

1. "Fiches tecniques" issue.

I found two instances of this string in the Strings Translation section. One of them was untranslated. So I translated it. Please see the attached screenshot Fiches-tecniques-string.jpg. Now this issue is fixed.

2. "Step 1 of 2" issue

I edited the French form here: hidden link. And the source of the problem was there. Please see the attached screenshot, current_page.jpg. So I corrected it to "Étape" and "sur". And now this issue is fixed.

3. The "no upcoming events at this time" on the Actus page.

This situation is the same in English. Also, in English, there are no upcoming events. Please see the attached screenshot, no-upcoming-events-in-english.jpg. So this is expected; if there are no upcoming events in the default language, there will be none in the secondary language.

4. The "Upcoming events on Side bar doesnt translate" issue.

I can see this issue for two posts. Please see the attached screenshot untrnslated-events.jpg. This is happening because those posts are not translated. You can translate them yourself or send them to an automatic translator. I can see that you had the option "Translate Everything" enabled. However, you have run out of credits on your site. So if you want to keep using automatic translation, please register for the Pay-as-you-go option or buy prepaid credits. You can see this in WPML -> Translation Dashboard. Please see the attached screenshot untrnslated-events.jpg.

Itamar.

Hi Thanks for the updates.

The Actus page should be all in french. The Upcoming events is showing on Strings to be translated... I translated it and it still doesnt work.

The Artciles that shows on the side bar, it shows all articles in French and in English languages... they have been translated manually as your translation services didnt work, the article was confusing and I wasted my credit money.

I need the Upcoming events and tThere are no upcoming events at this time boths translated into french. GTranslate did all translation for the free version of the app... I dont understand why WPML as paid version cant translate the side bar... even though it shows on strings (attached screenshot) the option to translate that and it still dosnt work?

in page Fiches Techniques... the Menu for PRODUCT, CONTENT, CATEGORY, LANGUAGE, DOWNLOAD PDF, DOWNLOAD, DOWNLOAD SELECT DOCUMENTS.

Didnt also translated... allthought they are also on strings and I did translate them.. but they dont take effect

Could you please help to find a solution for this problem??

Thank you!
