This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are building a new website and trying to move all products in two languages from one site to another. You followed the WPML export and import documentation, but the products only imported in Spanish, and the English versions did not import.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend that you first go to WPML > Export & Import and set up the import dialog before running the import. After running the import, you should again visit WPML > Export & Import and run the dialog to connect the imports.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it’s outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am building a new website for my client and trying to move all the products in 2 languages from hidden link to the new website hidden link. I followed the documentation on WPML export and import.

Symptoms:
The products only imported in one language, Spanish. The English versions did not import.

Questions:
Is it possible to import all the English versions of the products as well?

I also installed the WPML Export and Import plugin to help with the importing of the products in two languages.

Hello,

Before running the import, you need to go to WPML > Export & Import and set up the import dialog.

After running the import, you again need to go to WPML > Export & Import and run the dialog to connect the imports.

If you did follow this workflow and it still does not work out as expected, please send us your import file to that we can have a closer look into it.

You can use a free service like hidden link">WeTransfer to send the file.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello Andres, Yes i have the Import & Export plugin installed and i used it as per the instructions, to the letter.

Ummm, Please could you send the correct link to your wetransfer?
It would need to have an email to send the file?

You have not provided that.

Kind regards

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I will take care of this ticket; the reply time will be shorter now.

What Andreas meant was that you can share a download link. You can upload the file to the service of your choice (WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox) and share the link with us.

I am making the next reply private so you can share the link safely. There's no need to share credentials.

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Otto

Hello,

Thanks!

I only see Spanish content in the CSV file. The column _wpml_import_language_code only have "es".

When exporting the content, did you switch to "All languages":
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/#export-multilingual-content
1. Go to Products and click the Export button.
2. Use the language switcher at the top of the page to switch to All languages.
3. Click the Generate CSV button.

Best Regards,
Otto

Hi,

You can choose what to do with already imported products (skip, update). But I suggest removing the already imported and importing the new file from scratch.

Hi,

There's no need. When you go to WPML > Export and Import, there is no language switcher.

Otto

Thanks, i did not know this part, that had to be done after the importing
WPML > Export and Import,

One thing i have an issue with is, that some products are default in Spanish, and then other in English.

Is there a way to solve this issue and have them all as default al in one language. should all be in Spanish first.

Kind regards

Hi,

The original language of an imported product will be the same as the exported product. And the same with the translations; they will keep the source language as in the export.

So, I think this is expected, and there is no feature to change this behaviour.

But this shouldn't affect the behaviour of your site.

Best Regards,
Otto
