This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate the placeholder text 'Filter by occupation' for a Checkbox filter in JetEngine smartfilters on your website, but it is not translating when switching languages.
Solution:
We recommend registering the Elementor widget as translatable. You can follow the steps outlined in this documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multilingual-tools/registering-custom-elementor-widgets-for-translation/

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to fix a bug related to JetEngine smartfilters on our website. The filter type is a Checkbox filter, and we are using automatic translation with the filters set to translatable. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
On the frontend, the placeholder text for the filter is not translating when switching languages. The expected behavior is that the placeholder text 'Filter by occupation' should be translated.

Questions:
How can I translate the placeholder text for the Checkbox filter in JetEngine smartfilters?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. I'd be glad to assist you with this issue.

It seems that the Elementor widget text is not configured as translatable. You can register the widget by following the steps outlined here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multilingual-tools/registering-custom-elementor-widgets-for-translation/

Please let me know if this resolves your concern.

Best regards,

Hello Shekhar,

Thank you the tools helped us. We needed some extra code to get it working though.
