NextGen Gallery and Album title translations not appearing on front end

barjD-2	Background of the issue: I am trying to: Translate NextGen Gallery and Album titles using String translation and to have those titles appear on the front end of the translation pages. I have tried: I have followed the instructions here https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/translating-nextgen-gallery-using-wpml/ You can see the issue on the following pages: hidden link —> This is a translation page and the strings for the gallery titles are definitely translated in String Translation. hidden link —> Notice on the above page that the breadcrumb is translated for the gallery, but not for the title of the album. I have attached a screenshot to show an example of one of them. The issue was reported in 2023 here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translating-nextgen-gallery-titles/ The solution provided in that thread from 2023 suggests editing a plugin file directly. However, this solution would not work in the event of needing to update the plugin. The plugin’s new files will overwrite the changes, causing the fix to disappear. How can we get the NextGen Gallery strings to show their translations on the front end of our website in the long-term, while allowing for plugin updates from NextGen gallery? Is there a code snippet we can use in our functions.php file instead? Symptoms: Questions:

I’ve reviewed the report, and it appears that our compatibility team has contacted the NextGen Gallery plugin author. However, the request may have been overlooked or they could still be working on other bug fixes before implementing the solution we provided. Unfortunately, there isn’t a code snippet available, as the required changes need to be made directly within the plugin files. In the meantime, we recommend using the workaround shared here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translating-nextgen-gallery-titles/ We’ll also continue following up with the plugin author and will update you once we receive any news from their side.

barjD-2	May I suggest, since they haven't replied in over a year, is it possible to take this down as "fully compatible" with your plugin? We specifically chose this plugin because your website said it was "fully compatible" with WPML in the headline here: https://wpml.org/plugin/nextgen-gallery/ I realize there is a "known issues" line of text there, but it is not prominent. It can be easily missed.

While the plugin is listed as "fully compatible," we understand that the ongoing unresolved issue and lack of response from the plugin author over the past year are frustrating and misleading. I'll forward your suggestion to our compatibility team for review. In the meantime, I've also highlighted this case internally to see if we can update the page to make the known issues more prominent or reconsider the compatibility status if the situation doesn't improve soon.
