Hello, we’re experiencing a recurring problem with the WPML plugin
Our setup uses the Flatsome theme and Wpml. The bug happens mainly when we update the Frontpage.
For example, if we edit a text or an image on the English frontpage, a lot of times the content of the Spanish frontpage is replaced by the English content.
You can see the revisions to verify that the front page in English many times has the content in Spanish and we have to restore previous revisions to solve it. this is happening in many website:
Infrico.com
Infricosupermarket.com
Waterin.infricosupermarket.com
I am going to provide you the access to a staging site so that you can test
Thank you for sharing the access details to the staging site, however, please note this is a public thread and we recommend only sharing sensitive info in a private reply
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.
NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
Spanish is the default language and the homepage is translated from Spanish to English.
When you make an edit to the English version the Spanish (default language) version then is overwritten by English?
Typically I have seen this the other way (Default overwrites the translations) but not in the manner of the translation overwriting the default language.
Are there specific steps I need to take to reproduce this behavior? At the moment I did an edit to the EN version and changed the title but I did not reproduce it.
Thank you for the screenshot! I can see the revision. The issue that was causing this behavior on the thread shared was caused by a different bug in an older version of WPML which has now been fixed by our team.
It is important to be able to reproduce this behavior for us to investigate it.
When translating do you typically use the WPML editor or the standard WordPress editor?
At the moment the page is set up to use the standard editor.
