This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where slugs for translated content in WPML disappear about 30 minutes after being set, leading to redirections to the home page, this might be due to a conflict with the Event Manager plugin. This problem specifically affects the second site language, while the main language remains unaffected.
Solution:
We recommend deactivating all plugins on your staging site and then trying to reproduce the problem. If the issue persists, reactivate the plugins one by one to identify the conflict. According to a support thread on the WordPress forum (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wpml-issue-with-eventsmanager/), the Event Manager plugin might be causing the issue. Until an update is available, you could consider downgrading or amending the plugin file directly as a temporary fix.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to maintain slugs for translated content in WPML. Recently, slugs for translated posts and pages have started disappearing after being set. This issue occurs only in the second site language, while the main language version remains unaffected.

Symptoms:
Slugs for translated content disappear approximately 30 minutes after being set, causing the post to redirect to the home page. This issue is specific to the second site language.

Questions:
What could possibly be removing the slugs?

Hi there!

Could you please give access to the staging site?

I have enabled next answer as private so you can add credentials on private way.

The private box looks like this: hidden link

Could you please deactivate all the plugins in the staging site and try to reproduce the problem?

Then we need to activate them to see where is the conflict.

We're experiencing what seems like the same issue: slugs for our three secondary languages get wiped. This only happens for pages/products that have recently been edited. If posts/products have not been edited their slugs stay intact.

The issue also reappears: if we fix the URL by saving a page/product - some time later slug is again wiped.

Very interested in any updates on this.

Hi,

I tracked it down to a problem with the Event Manager plugin and found a support thread, which points to the cause:

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wpml-issue-with-eventsmanager/

Pending a further update to that plugin, we can either downgrade or amend the plugin file directly for a temporary fix.

Hope that helps you.
