Hi there,

I can see that the plugin can detect and translate standard paragraphs and list elements, but it cannot identify other components like the hero banner and block elements –
A good example is the Africa Risk Reward Index 2022 - Oxford Economics (wpengine.com) page where only parts are translated. This may not be too problematic if WPML can show us how to add elements manually.

Secondly, when I click on translation for the homepage, it will auto-duplicate another homepage but this is in the Chinese version. Meaning that we will have 1 Homepage (English), 1 Homepage (Chinese) on the WordPress CMS dashboard?

So, if I want to edit the Chinese version, I just go to the Chinese Homepage to edit?

Hi Jessica,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

I use the Inspect tool of the browser and see the hero banner is not added to the page content. It looks like you are using a custom theme to display the hero banner. Please let me know how you add and show the hero banner content on the page, I will find a way to translate it on your site.

Meaning that we will have 1 Homepage (English), 1 Homepage (Chinese) on the WordPress CMS dashboard?

Yes, it's how WPML works. You can read more about WPML tables here https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

if I want to edit the Chinese version, I just go to the Chinese Homepage to edit?

If you want to edit the Chinese version and you are using Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), you can edit the page in English > Make some changes to the page content > Save > Update the translation in ATE. Refer documentation
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks
