Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page using WPML so that some field group items are copied to translated pages, while everything else is set to 'same fields across languages'. This is a live website, and as a temporary solution, we have manually translated each language using the WordPress editor, which is not maintainable with 5 languages and numerous pages. Symptoms:
When translating using the WPML editor, some fields are missing and appear in the source language in the translated version. Additionally, the Contact Form has entirely disappeared.
Questions:
Why are some fields missing in the WPML editor during translation?
Why has the Contact Form disappeared in the translated version?
How to overcome these problems as this is becoming annoying for my client.
Here's what I tested that seemed to work so far. I changed the field name to Other Integrations Title instead of just Title, in case there are multiple fields with the name "title" and that could possibly cause some confustion in the translation editor. I then edited the value in the original post by adding the word "test" to this title.
Next, I followed these steps and when I opened the translation editor and searched "test" or "other", I was able to see the field available for translation (please see attached). Can you try translating the field and let me know if the translation shows correctly on the frontend?
Hey, I need to revert back to the initial value since the fields are retrieved on the page via the id and this caused the title to disappear on a live website.
Thus, is this only way to get it working? Would mean renaming over 30 blocks across the site & code to make sure everything works as intended with the translation. How about the contact form?
