Background of the issue:
I am trying to address an issue with my WordPress site being slow. I noticed that the CPU usage on my server stays at 100% almost constantly, which is causing performance problems and slowing down the site.

Symptoms:
The CPU usage on my server is at 100% almost constantly, leading to performance problems and a slow site.

Questions:
What could be causing the CPU usage to remain at 100%?
How can I resolve the performance issues and slow site caused by high CPU usage?

Hhi,

To help us identify whether WPML is contributing to the high CPU usage, could you please perform the following tests and let us know the results:

1. With WPML deactivated and all other plugins active
What is the CPU usage in this case? This will help us determine if WPML is the main trigger.

2. With only WPML plugins activated (all other plugins deactivated) and using a default WordPress theme like *Twenty Twenty:
What is the CPU usage in this scenario? This will help us see if WPML is causing the issue on its own or if there’s a conflict with another plugin or your current theme.

These tests will give us a clearer picture of whether the issue is due to WPML directly, or a combination of WPML with other plugins or the theme.

Please let us know the results when you have a chance!

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I will take care of this ticket; the reply time will be shorter now.

The peaks in CPU usage do not seem related to WPML. Why do you think WPML is the root cause? Can you please elaborate on that?

Best Regards,
Otto

All performance plugins indicated that WPML was burdening the entire WordPress site. The issue was related to category synchronization, which was being changed, and it resolved itself after two days.
