Background of the issue:
I am trying to set/edit the FR version of the Header template using Divi builder, but I encounter an issue. I contacted hosting support and discovered that the wpml-string-translation plugin is causing the problem. If we disable it, the issue is resolved. The issue occurs when I go to Divi->Theme builder on the French language and click Edit Global Header (hidden link). The link to the page where the issue can be seen is hidden link.
Expected result to see the template preview (hidden link). It's ok that on this page we see incorrect styles because we use shortcode inside the template.
Symptoms:
Instead of seeing the template preview, I get a 404 (No Results Found) page (hidden link, hidden link).
Questions:
Why does the wpml-string-translation plugin cause a 404 error when editing the FR version of the Header template?
How can I resolve the issue without disabling the wpml-string-translation plugin?
I tried to upload the screencast on the creating issue step, but it doesn't work.
Please follow the steps below to create/edit the translation of a Divi header template by avoiding editing the translation inside Divi builder directly:
- Go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Translation Management
- Find the header template and select it
- Send it to translation by clicking the send to translation button at the bottom
- Go to WPML > Translations menu and click the translate button.
- You will be redirected to the Advanced Translation Editor and you can do the translation there.
