This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to manage language translations on your site and want to delete deactivated language translations to avoid duplicates when selecting a speaker for a session. However, when you attempt to delete these translations, the process does not complete, and duplicates still appear.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Temporarily activate the Hungarian language.
2. Go to Posts, Pages, and Speakers, switch to that language, and bulk delete the translations.
3. Clear the trash if necessary.
Before making any changes, please ensure that you back up your database first. For more details on how to delete translations, visit https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-delete-the-translation-of-a-page/.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to manage language translations on my site hidden link. For a previous event edition, we used Hungarian language, but I have deactivated it this year. I want to delete the deactivated language translations to avoid duplicates when selecting a speaker for a session.

Symptoms:
When I click delete deactivated language, it does not complete the task, and I still see speaker duplicates when I try to add a speaker to a specific session (ENG & HU versions). Although in speaker lists there is only one version (English).

Questions:
How can I successfully delete deactivated language translations in WPML?
Why does the delete deactivated language function not complete the task?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

The process should not take long, especially since you don't have much content. If it doesn't change after a few minutes, it may be stuck, and I suggest trying to restart the process.

You can also try the following steps:

1. Temporarily activate the Hungarian language.
2. Go to Posts, Pages, and Speakers, switch to that language, and bulk delete the translations.
3. Clear the trash if necessary.
