Background of the issue:
Sto cercando di tradurre Slider Revolution su hidden link.

Symptoms:

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and I hope it is fine if I leave you a first quick reply in English.

Please take note that currently it is not possible to translate global layers.

No prob with English.

But I never mentioned global layers. The disappeared translations were just regular layers ...

I have been using SR for years and always had most of the sliders translated with WPML, but this bug has never happened to me before.

On your screenshot, it says "Global Layers".

Anything apart from global layers should be translatable by following the above-mentioned documentation.

If this is not the case, I can offer to take a look as an admin user.

It looks like you were trying to create one Slider per language.

The recommended workflow would be to use one Slider for all languages and then create various Slides for each language. WPML includes a specific language option inside each Slider for this purpose.

Please follow this documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/creating-multilingual-sliders-with-revolution-slider-and-wpml/

No, these are just older sliders I don't use anymore (and I wouldn't have had this issue with non-multilingual sliders).

The relevant one is "Main Slider multi chiusura 2"

The WPML Multilingual option is correctly enabled on your Slider, but it currently only has four Italian Slides.

You need to create one slide for each language inside this slider. Then use the language options inside the right sidebar to assign a language to each slider.

Did you make sure to read this documentation?
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/creating-multilingual-sliders-with-revolution-slider-and-wpml/

Basically, duplicate the existing slides, change their language inside the right sidebar inside the Slide Options, and then change the text from Italian to English.

I'm really wondering if you read my messages at all ... looks like not judging from your answers ...

From my message NOVEMBER 11, 2025 AT 5:17 PM:

To recap the issue:
- I already had a working multilingual slider (IT, EN, DE).
- I edited the slider to update some texts (and the relative translations)
- Saved and tested the slider in the frontend (translations were present)
- I opened again the editor to correct a misspell: all translations were gone (as in screenshot) as well as on frontend (missing slider on EN and DE languages).

This happened twice: I had the same issue on another website under the same multisite install.

I did not have any issues with creating the English slides for you.

My problem is that sometimes the translation disappears after being created (yours are still there).

I noticed that you duplicated the slides as per WPML guide.

In the SR online manual they suggest to use the child slider to translate with WPML:

Which one is the correct process? Are both fine? I have always been using child slider ...

Thank you

I made use of the workflow suggested in WPML's documentation.

- I duplicated the slides
- assigned the language inside the slide options
- edited the texts and saved each slide

I use the duplicate option, as otherwise you will need to recreate the whole slide from scratch.

Could you please use this workflow to add the missing translations and let me know in case the issue occurs again?

If you use the child slide you don't have to start from scratch because it makes a copy of the parent slide.

There does not seem to be much difference between child slides and duplication apart from the position of the copied slide (see attached screenshot).
Personally, I find the use of child slides tidier and clearer, but I will try using duplication to see if the problem still occurs.
