I am trying to import a large amount of pages using WP All Import and WPML. I have around 370 pages, 50/50 between English and French. My source file is a "WP all export" of all pages from my source site, without any filters or migration options.
When I try to import this file into the target website, the English and French pages are merged under English. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Is there a step-by-step guide on how to do this correctly?
I have tried the following:
I have made sure that the WPML All Import add-on is installed and activated.
I have created a new import in WP All Import.
I have selected the "WP All Export" file as the source file.
I have selected the "English" language as the default language.
I have selected the "French" language as the secondary language.
I have clicked on the "Import" button.
The import process seems to be completed successfully, but the English and French pages are merged under English.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Can you please help me?
Welcome to the WPML support forum. Thanks for contacting us.
We are currently handling a high amount of ticket and while waiting for one of my colleagues to help with this ticket, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.
2. We just released a new add-on that should make the exportation/importation much easier: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/
- This add-on works with WP All Export /All Import
- It must be installed on both site before exportation and importation
I would recommend that second option. If you still require help let us know, one of my colleagues will help you out.
