Background of the issue:
I am working on SEO settings for my pages and I want to use the Yoast Bulk Editor. I am trying to select a language using WPML, similar to how I can in Posts or Pages.

Symptoms:
The Yoast Bulk Editor does not show a language filter at the top of the list.

Questions:
Why does the Yoast Bulk Editor not show a language selector like in Posts or Pages?

In the meantime, I have found the custom field settings linked to Yoast. I supposedly needed to tick the box 'Show system fields' in order to show them.

The reason that I opened this support ticket is that in the current situation, the SEO meta description is not translated to the last state of the source language, but strangely enough the setting for it is set to 'translate'. So, I would expect it to translate it anyways. On the other hand, not all settings here regarding to yoast are set to 'translate'.

Another important detail about what I am trying to do here is that I want to remove the page specific meta description and go back to the default one set in the Yoast SEO plugin. Hence, it should use the string translation (admin_texts_wpseo_titles) for it, but it does not.

Hello,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I will take care of this ticket; the reply time will be shorter now.

Thanks for reporting this.

To ensure the quickest and most accurate support, please provide your debug information so I can look at some of your configurations. We have an excellent article on how to locate it here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/.

To be able to investigate the problem we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation.

I created a clean installation of WordPress, Yoast SEO, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons. And I translated all the content.

You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below:

As far as I can see, all the pages (in all languages) appear to be edited using the Yoast Bulk editor. Yoast’s Bulk Editor is a standalone Yoast screen with limited filtering and no built-in integration for WPML’s language selector (unlike the standard Posts/Pages list). That’s why you don’t see a language dropdown there.

Kindly follow the steps below:
- Don't restore your site there.
- Check and let me know how to replicate the issue with minimal steps in the testing site

Best Regards,
Otto

Okay, I understand, that it is not a bug or mistake that there is no lanuage selector in the Yoast Bulk Editor. But the issue I am facing is something else, where the bulk editor was only my workaround for the following issue:

The slug, the default SEO title and the default SEO meta description of each page on my website are not translated (throught your Advanced Translation Editor), although in the WPML-plugin settings in the 'Custom Fields Translation' for Yoast and the settings for default SEO title and defautl SEO meta description in the String Translation are set, respecively, to 'Translatable' and to the translated languages.

FYI, I am using WPML and Yoast with Divi page builder/theme.

Because the nature of the issue changes for this ticket, should I open a new ticket?

Hello,

Thanks.

Yes, it's better to handle the "new" issue in a separate ticket.

I created a new one, let's follow up here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/the-default-seo-title-and-the-default-seo-meta-description-of-each-page-on-my-website-are-not-translated/

I'll reply there soon.

I am closing this ticket then.

Best Regards,
Otto
