Background of the issue:
I was trying to manage my WordPress site using the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin. I encountered an error while unserializing data, which is causing issues in the admin panel. The error can be seen at this link: hidden link. The error message is: unserialize(): Error at offset 150 of 223 bytes. This error is linked to the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin, and disabling the plugin resolves the issue. Reinstalling the plugin did not help, and all WPML plugins are updated to the current version.

Symptoms:
I am experiencing an error message: unserialize(): Error at offset 150 of 223 bytes. This causes duplication of ACF fields in the admin panel and sometimes results in missing data from ACF fields.

Questions:
How can I resolve the unserialize error?
Why does disabling the WPML plugin fix the issue?
What causes the duplication of ACF fields?
How can I prevent data from disappearing in ACF fields?

Hello,

Can you please verify if at WPML > Settings > Post Type Translation the ACF Field Groups are set to "Translatable"?

If so, please set them to "Not translatable". Now please test if you can still replicate the error.

Further, please clarify if you are using any custom code in your theme when calling the fields, apart from the recommended code examples of ACF, that could maybe be involved in this issue.

Best regards
Andreas
