Background of the issue:
I'm translating a website using WPML, and some template parts aren't shown on some posts. The issue can be seen here: hidden link. I expected the header and footer to appear as they do in the German version: hidden link.

Symptoms:
Not all template parts are shown on some posts in the translated version.

Questions:
Why are some template parts not shown in the translated version?
How can I ensure the header and footer appear in the translated posts?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

1.- Could you describe, step by step, how the header is created or edited?

2.- Please share the access credentials to the site in your next message that I have set private. This will allow me to take a closer look at the site configuration. Don't forget to create a full site backup before sharing the credentials.

Looking forward to your message.
Regards,
Carlos

Hi there,

Please go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Filter by 'Template part' -> Translate the Header and Footer and double-check if the issue disappeared.

Hi, Thanks for the advice. It mostly worked; I still have some issues, though. I say mostly because templates (specifically the one for the home page) aren't being loaded in translations. But I will try to solve this, but the problem is that I'm stuck on formatting markers. They aren't showing on the translations. They show on the side of the source but not on the side of the translation. And as a result, I cannot apply them and can't finish translating. How do I solve this?

Please share a link to a video reproducing the issue with the markers so I can have a better understanding.

Of course. Attached. The issue is with the line breaks. I can't find a way to add them.

In this case, please duplicate the segment and then translate it. That way it will copy the HTML markers and it will be easy to translate.

If you mean that I should copy the original text and then translate it, it doesn't work. These wpml_linebreaks do not get translated.

Hi Evgeny,

Our specialists are still working on a final solution to this issue. In the meantime, there is a workaround you can apply to avoid this issue:
- Edit the post/page/template in the original language
- Click on the icon to translate to the secondary language
- Once in the ATE interface (Advanced Translation Editor) -> Click on the Settings icon that appears on the top right
- Disable the option 'I prefer bigger segments'
- Save the changes
- Finish the translation and double-check if the issue disappeared
