Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a WooCommerce Bundled product, which is a product created using the 'WooCommerce Product Bundles' plugin. This plugin is reported as compatible: https://wpml.org/plugin/woocommerce-product-bundles-2/

Symptoms:
The translated product is missing many settings and configurations, like "layout" and princing options.

Questions:
How can I ensure that the translated product retains the same settings as the original product?

I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.

The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.

I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Just a quick update: I've edited the translated product and I've manually added all the settings that were missing.

This way, I can obtain a product that has the same characteristics as the original product, but obviously I have to modify it manually and check that the changes are not lost or overwritten every time the original product is modified. In the end, it almost works but it's not a stable solutions, especially considering that the plugin is reported as "compatible with WPML".

So, how can I copy from one language to another all the fields that are not currently being copied?

Thanks

Hey there,

THanks for sharing.

"So, how can I copy from one language to another all the fields that are not currently being copied?"

That's precisely the issue. This should be expected. Also, we've tried adding the custom XML to force that, what didn't solve the issue with the price.

Please go to WPML > Settings > Custom Fields Translations and search for "price", to see if there's any additional field that can be set to Copy. After that, it's necessary to update the default product, so the setting changes are applied to it. Finally, update the translation and check if it's solved.

If not, I'll need to check the website myself, create a copy and make a more in-depth analysis of the issue. Let me know.

Hi,
let me try to be more clear about the wrong price. The bundle price was wrong because the price of the bundle product is the sum of all the product in the bundle. I mean, the issue was not related to a specific price field, it was some other configuration regarding the price calculation was not copied.

So, I've made anoter test with a new product and I've found that those 2 fields are not copied during translation:

- the minimum quantity of products for the bundle (it's a number)
- the maximum quantity of products for the bundle (it's a number)

After manually adding these two values to the product translation I can see the right price. So it seems that the plugin use the "minimum quantity of products for the bundle" field to calculate the starting price.

In the end, i guess those 2 are the missing fields that needs to be copied during translation. It seems to me that all other data and settings are copied correctly.

Hope this helps!

I apologise, but I would prefer not to give you access to my site. I have to publish new products using the ‘Product Bundle’ plugin today, so I would rather not risk giving you access and having you make changes.

Furthermore, I do not believe that this is a site-specific issue, but rather a normal compatibility issue that you can easily reproduce in your own dedicated installation.

So, in conclusion, I ‘solved’ my problem by directly modifying the translated products and adding the missing data.

But if you want to solve the problem definitively and ensure that the plugins are truly 100% compatible, I invite you to test and solve the problem in your own test environment. I cannot risk endangering my e-commerce site.

Thanks for understanding.

Well, since I got no reply from you in almost 10 days I guess we can close this ticket.

Just for future reference:
- the issue is not resolved
- it's not an issue retaled to my specific enviroment
- WPML and "WooCommerce Product Bundles" right now are not 100% compatible

In the end, I hope you will work on this translation issue to reach 100% compatibility.
Thanks!

Hi, sorry again for the misunderstanding 🙂

I've installed the "Product bundle" plugin on the Sandbox and created the bundle product with the same settings I have on my site.

According to my experience on my webiste, those 2 fields are not copied during translation:
- Min Bundle Size
- Max Bundle Size

Please check if you get the same result on the sandbox, ok?
Thanks again.
Regards

Hey there,

Thank you so much for following the provided steps. With the isolated issue, it's a lot easier to handle the situation.

Ok, so what I found out, is that the default language setting for the min and max bundle size variables is "Don't translate", which in this case leave them empty on translations. You can change them to "Copy", and the problem will be solved.

Go to WPML > Settings > Custom Fields Translations, and click on "Show System Fields". After that, set both "_wcpb_max_qty_limit" and "_wcpb_max_qty_limit" to "Copy". That will ensure future translations copy over the value.

Again, thank you for cooperating.

Hi, thank you for checking!
I've set both custom fields to "copy", so I guess my issue is resolved.

P.S: just for info, I did not receive the notification email for your reply, so I assume there is a problem with sending notification emails? Or could it be something to do with my account?

Anyway, thanks again for your help!

Iìm gonna close the ticket, thanks again for pointing out these missing fields that needed translating.
