Hi,

I'm using a plugin (URL Shortener by MyThemeShop) to create short links. I use them to manage my affiliate links. WPML sees them as internal links, so they don't show up in the Advanced Translation Editor. The only way I can edit these links is to find them in the String Translations and manually editing these translations.

Is there a better way to manage these links? Ideally I want them to show up in the Advanced Translation Editor so I can translate them in there.

Kind regards,
Robin

Hi Robin,

before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

One option would be to use absolute links, so they would be considered "external" and appear in the editor. Or you can translate them via the search field described here: https://wpml.org/de/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/.

Best Regards
Marcel

Hi Marcel,

Translating the links using the search field was exactly what I was looking for! Is there an option to show these fields by default in the translation editor, so without having to search for them first?

Kinds regards
Robin

Hi,

Unfortunately that's an expected behavior. We hide every link so as not to accidentally break the link, especially if you use automatic translation or local translators.
