Problem:
The client is experiencing issues where changes made to certain fields are incorrectly applying to English as well, despite using the language switcher. This results in mixed-language emails being sent to English customers.
Solution:
We recommend translating these items using the String Translation feature of WPML. The language switcher on the page will not work for this purpose. If you're experiencing issues with String Translation, please provide more details so we can assist you further.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we encourage you to check the related known issues and verify that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the values of certain fields as shown in this screenshot: hidden link.

Symptoms:
After saving the changes, the fields also applied to English. The language switcher does nothing, and because they are not strings, we can't translate them back through the String Translation system. English customers are receiving 'frenglish' emails. Screenshot: hidden link.

Questions:
How can I ensure that emails are sent in the correct language?
Why is the language switcher not working for these fields?

The proper way to translate these items is through String Translation — using the language switcher on the page won't work in this case. You mentioned that String Translation isn't working for you — could you please provide a bit more detail about the issue you're facing?

We found out how it works. It's not very intuitive at first, but now that we know...

We couldn't find the strings when searching, but using the little "?" tooltip, we could filter on them.
