Background of the issue:
I talked to Oman last week about this issue https://wpml.org/forums/topic/enabling-automatic-translations-from-a-non-default-page/ and followed his recommendations. Now for Norwegian, two pages are showing, alternating each other /no/apps/agenda and /no/apps/agenda-2. I want the original page to show the /no/agenda and remove the other one (which seems to have been created by WPML and somehow has become the default page for WPML).
Symptoms:
Two pages are showing for Norwegian, alternating between /no/apps/agenda and /no/apps/agenda-2. The now default page is /no/agenda-2, created by wpml and is the wrong one. The original /no/agenda/ page is the right one and the only which should be shown.
Questions:
How can I ensure the original page /no/agenda is shown?
How do I remove the duplicate page /no/apps/agenda-2?
How can I fix this?
Hi Bobby, That's weird. Can you try again now? As a workaround, I think I managed to connect the pages and made the English version the default page again. Then, I asked WPML to translate it into Norwegian and copy the right content onto the pages. It's not as it was originally, but it seems to work.
Can you double-check? hidden link and the English version is without the NO
I first have other pages made in Norwegian, so what is the best way to handle them now? Should I delete them, make the English ones first, and then translate them into Norwegian and the secondary languages? I want to avoid the same issues at all costs.
The expected workflow right now since English is the default language would be to create pages in English and translate into Norwegian.
if the issue for some reason resurfaces please do let our team know and reference this ticket or request to be connected with me so you don't have to re explain it.
Also, do note that if you have 2 pages that are not connected you can always connect them manually.
