This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is attempting to translate the post-type slug for their multi-language site. Despite following the necessary steps, including enabling Slug Translations and setting the Swedish slug to 'kundcase', the URL still displays the English slug 'case-studies' for Swedish pages.

Solution:
1. Navigate to WPML → Settings → Slug Translations.
2. Ensure that Translate base slugs of custom post types and taxonomies is enabled.
3. In the Post Types Translation section, set 'kundcase' as the Swedish slug and configure other languages as needed.
4. Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes to flush rewrite rules.
5. Clear all caches including plugin, server, CDN, and browser caches.
6. If the issue persists, deactivate all caching plugins or server caches temporarily and check again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may require further investigation by a WPML support specialist. We recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem continues, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the post-type slug on our multi-language site. Our base language is English (UK). For our Case Studies pages, I would like to change /case-studies/ to /kundcase/ in the URL for Sweden and repeat the process across all languages. I have followed the steps, ensured that Slug Translations is enabled, Post Types Translation is set to Translatable with the slug for Sweden set to 'kundcase.' I have also ensured that the post-type.php file created by the agency who built the theme has 'rewrite['slug'] => 'case-studies'' and 'has_archive => true.' I flush permalinks and I am still seeing the English slug on the Swedish case-studies pages. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
I expected to see hidden link but instead, I got hidden link

Questions:
Why are the slugs not being translated to 'kundcase' for the Swedish case-studies pages?
What additional steps can I take to ensure the slug translation works across all languages?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

Please update the WPML plugins to the latest version in Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab and double-check if the issue disappeared.

Note: Please create a full site backup before updating the plugins. Also, flush any cache memory that might exist.

Can you tell me the results of the steps described above?

Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML String Translation are all up to date and I've cleared all caches. The slug is still not being translated.
