[Waiting for user feedback] Translating the footer
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
WordPress 6.7 has introduced a new issue that impact translations, please update WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions before you report issues. More about this here - https://wpml.org/errata/php-error-wp-6-7-notice-function-_load_textdomain_just_in_time-was-called/
Background of the issue:
I am trying to see the English address in the footer when clicking on the English flag. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
I expected to see '+298' added to the phone number and 'Faroe Islands' when on the English version. Instead, I got the default Faroese phone number and address without the 'Faroe Islands' text.
Questions:
Why is the English footer not displaying the correct phone number and address?
How can I ensure the English version shows the correct information?
Can you please check if there's any template or layout applied/used for the footer and if that is also translated and published?
You can try these steps to check for that:
1. Go to the Divi >> Theme Builder page.
2. Edit the Global Footer to check its name.
3. Navigate to WPML >> Translation Management and see if the correct footer template has been translated?
4. If not, please translate and check on the frontend.
Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.
Not a problem, can you please provide me temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)? Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated. So I can take a look and try to fix the problem.
Your next answer will be private, to share this information safely.
Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in the admin and on the frontend.
IMPORTANT: Please take a complete backup of the site to avoid data loss. I may need to activate/deactivate plugins also.
