Background of the issue:
I am trying to improve the accessibility of the website. I analyzed the page using a tool and received a report indicating that the attribute role="menuitem" needs a proper parent element. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
The tool used is: hidden link
Symptoms:
Accessibility issue with the language switcher in the menu. The report indicates that the attribute role="menuitem" needs a proper parent element.
Questions:
How can I add a proper parent element for the role="menuitem" attribute in the language switcher?
This issue has already been escalated to our developers. However, I don’t have an estimated resolution date yet, but I’ve added your report to help speed up the process.
Status: The fix for this is planned for inclusion in WPML v4.9.xx To the best of our knowledge, this version will be released as a beta version after a few weeks. And if things go right, the stable version will be released by the end of January.
Please understand that we can't promise anything, and things are up to our developers. This is not any real ETA and its just a rough timeline. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding
