This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with disabling automatic translation in WPML version 4.8.4. The automatic translation icon in the admin bar keeps spinning and displays an unreadable list. Additionally, the client cannot find the option to turn off automatic translation, and there is no 'WPML > Translation Management' menu item, which is now called 'Translation Dashboard'.

Solution:
1. We guided the client to navigate to WPML → Translation Dashboard to ensure that the 'Translate everything automatically' option is turned OFF.
2. We instructed the client to cancel any in-progress automatic translation jobs via WPML → Support → Troubleshooting.
3. We recommended performing WPML Troubleshooting actions such as 'Clear the cache in WPML' and 'Remove ghost entries from the translation tables'.
4. After confirming that these steps did not resolve the issue, we suggested a deeper investigation into WPML’s options table and background cron tasks for orphaned translation jobs or UI cache corruption.
5. We advised checking the database for incomplete entries in WPML tables (icl_translation_status, etc.) and considering manual cleanup.

If these steps do not resolve your issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

The database for the site has expanded fivefold with thousands of _wpa_event and _wpa_old_event postmetas. Is this your plugin doing this? This is alarming.

Thank you for sharing the credentials and for your trust.

There is a problem in the languages tables, but I cannot fix it because there is a firewall or a security plugin blocking me from accessing options within WPML. For example, if I visit WPML -> Languages, I get the error in the attached image.

Could you temporarily deactivate these security settings so I can run all the troubleshooting steps?

Note: Please confirm you have created a full site backup that you can restore if necessary.
