This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You want to reset WPML because you had both 'en' and 'en-gb' languages installed, and you want to switch back to just 'en'. However, when you reset WPML on the troubleshooting screen, all the products appear duplicated.

Solution:
When you deactivate WPML or reset it directly, WPML does not delete the translated content. This results in the content appearing as regular posts without language information, which causes the duplication. To properly reset WPML, you should first remove the languages and their content. We recommend following the steps in this guide: Deleting Languages and Plugin Data by Doing a WPML Reset on Your Site.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

When you deactivate WPML or reset (as you did), WPML does not delete the translated content. So these appear as regular content because there's no more language information (due to unavailability of WPML). This is the reason you see these duplicated visually, while these are separate/standalone posts "now".

To properly reset WPML, you've to first remove the languages and its content. Please consult this guide https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site/ for details and follow in the exact given order.

Regards.

Thanks, I did it and I think it worked. Now I have the following message:

We detected that the product_type field was set incorrectly for some product translations. This happened because the product_type taxonomy was translated. You can fix this in the WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency troubleshooting page.

I cannot get rid of this. Can you help?

Thank you for the updates and glad that guide helped about resetting WPML as expected.

Please see this guide on Troubleshooting WCML and follow along.

If you need help about an issue other than resetting WPML, I recommend opening a separate ticket/chat because as per forum policy we can only handle one issue per ticket. So you can get more to the point help, without mixing up several issues in one long ticket.
