This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing a PHP Fatal Error indicating that the class 'WPML_Cache_Directory' does not exist. This issue was discovered by your host, DreamHost, while troubleshooting performance issues on your site running PHP 8.4.14.
Solution:
We recommend downloading a fresh copy of WPML from https://wpml.org/account/downloads/ and reinstalling the plugins. Your WPML settings and translations will remain safe as they are stored in the database. After reinstalling, if the issue persists, please provide more details about the exact scenario in which the error occurs, including the steps you take. Additionally, test with only the WPML plugins enabled by temporarily disabling other plugins to rule out possible conflicts. Always ensure you create a full backup of your database before making any changes.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

I am experiencing a PHP Fatal Error on my site: Uncaught ReflectionException: Class 'WPML_Cache_Directory' does not exist.

My host (DreamHost) discovered this via CLI while troubleshooting performance issues. My site is running PHP 8.4.14 with 768M memory.

Can you please verify if a clean reinstall of the SitePress Multilingual CMS files is required and ensure my translation settings remain safe? Any other solution you can recommend? Thanks!

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

You can safely download a fresh copy of WPML from:
https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

Then reinstall the plugins. Your WPML settings and translations will remain intact, as they are stored in the database and will not be affected by reinstalling the plugin files.

If the issue persists after reinstalling, please provide more details about the exact scenario in which the error occurs (including the steps you take).

I also recommend testing with only the WPML plugins enabled (temporarily disabling other plugins) to rule out possible conflicts.

Before making any changes, please ensure you create a full backup of your database.
