Background of the issue:
I'm trying to copy an existing product, modify it, schedule it, and then change the content of the translation as well.
Symptoms:
The secondary language product stays a draft instead of being scheduled to the same time as the original language.
Questions:
Why does the secondary language product remain a draft when I schedule the original language product? How can I make sure, that the secondary language product will go public when the primary language product does?
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue.
It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site.
This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.
**IMPORTANT**
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields.
Hi,
Actually, when the client wants to come out with a new line of products (basically every second Thursday at 6PM), they want them to become available at the same time in both languages, so editing the products for the secondary languages after they become public doesn't really work. Do you have any other solutions?
Ben
- Make a copy of the product
- Edit and publish the original language copied product
- Schedule it for later the original language copied product. The original language copied product is not visible yet, since it's scheduled.
- Edit and save the translation of the copied product. It keeps the same publication date as the original language copied product.
I tried this workflow in this test site (you'll be automatically logged in): hidden link
Can you please give it a try there?
As far as I can see, you'll end up with the original language copied product and the translated copied product scheduled for the same date.
