Problem:
You are trying to shorten the language text next to the flags on your site, for example, changing 'English' to 'EN' or 'Chinese (Simplified)' to 'CN'.
Solution:
We recommend you navigate to WPML > Languages > Site languages > Edit languages. Here, you can change the language text in the column labeled 'Translation'. For a visual guide on how to do this, please refer to our documentation: Editing WPML's Languages Table.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to shorten the language text next to the flags on my site hidden link. For example, I want to shorten English to 'EN' or Chinese (Simplified) to 'CN'.

You can go to WPML > Languages > Site languages > Edit languages > Change the language text in the column Translation. Please check the attached screenshot.
