This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After transferring a website from development to live, the client is unable to edit string translations even after unregistering and re-registering the site with the key.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Deactivate all plugins except for those related to WPML from the WordPress Dashboard > Plugins, then check if the issue is resolved. If it is, reactivate each plugin one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.
2. Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme, such as 'TwentySeventeen', from the WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Themes menu to see if the issue is related to the theme.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, we may need to request temporary access to the site to investigate further. Please ensure a backup is made before making any changes, which can be done using the UpdraftPlus plugin.

If this solution doesn't look relevant, please open a new support ticket.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting WPML support.

I can see the issue on the screenshot you shared and WPML could be conflicting with another 3rd party plugin.

Please try the following steps and see if it helps:

1. Disable all the plugins except the WPML related ones from your WordPress Dashboard > Plugins and see if the issue is gone, if so, activate one plugin at a time until the culprit one is found.

2. Temporary change to a default WordPress theme such as the ‘TwentySeventeen’ theme from your WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Themes menu.

If the issue persists, I would need to take a closer look at your site. So I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

IMPORTANT: Please, note, a backup is required for security reasons, and to avoid any data loss, you can use the https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/plugin for these backup needs.

Your following answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if required. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

Upon reviewing your debug information, I have observed that the PHP limit for your "WP Memory Limit" is lower than the recommended 256MB or the required 128MB, as mentioned in the documentation found at: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/. To resolve this, I kindly request that you contact your hosting provider and request an increase in the PHP value for you.
