Background of the issue:
We use ACF relationships (bidirectional) to link entries from different CPTs. When I create an event and assign a location to it, the event is assigned to the corresponding location in reverse. This works perfectly for the original language but not in the translations. The new relationships are only copied to the translations when the entry (the location) itself is updated. We now do that manually, but it would be great to have that automated.

Symptoms:
The new relationships are only copied to the translations when the entry (the location) itself is updated.

Questions:
Is it possible to automate the synchronization of ACF relationship fields in translations via WPML?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

1)  In order to expedite handling your support requests, can you please share WPML support debug information from your site.

- To give debug information, login to your site and go to WPML → Support. From there click on the “debug information” link at the bottom of the page.
- Once on the “debug information” page, select the entire content of the text box and copy it.
- Now go back to our support forum, find debug information box and paste it.

More information on the link: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

2) Make sure you are using the ACFML addon plugin and have set the correct translation settings for them:

- https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/

Regards,
Drazen

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

I took over this ticket and will be happy to assist you further.

The option to share Debug information should be located just below the text box where you compose your replies. I’ve re-enabled the Debug information box so you can securely share the details.

Once I have the information, I'll review it and provide you with the next steps!

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello There,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for providing the debug information. According to it, the translation preference for most of the ACF fields is set to "Copy," which means the contents should be synchronized across languages. If you observe that something is not being copied correctly, it's possible that the method you are using is incorrect, or the field is not configured properly.

To better assess your approach and identify the issue, could you please record a video demonstrating the problem and share it in your next message? Make sure to cover the Translation mode set for the ACF field group, how you're currently updating the field, and how you expect it to function in the translation in the video. This will help me determine whether your approach is correct and provide more focused assistance.

Looking forward to your response and I appreciate your patience and kind cooperation in this matter.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
