Background of the issue:
We are trying to import translated content (FR) into a site that already has content in the default language (NL). We're using WP All Export + WP All Import, together with WPML Export & Import.
We exported the NL content using WP All Export and included:
_wpml_import_translation_group
_wpml_import_language_code
_wpml_import_source_language_code
Then we imported the French content with the same TRID and correct language settings. WPML Import detected the items and processed them, switching their language to FR.
We also tested the “Define parent import” method via WPML All Import, setting the FR post to link to the correct NL post ID.
In both cases, the translations were not linked.
Symptoms:
The imported French posts were not linked to the Dutch originals. The ‘plus’ icon still shows, indicating they are not connected as translations. Even though the TRID is shared and fields are correct, no link is established.
Questions:
Why are the imported French posts not linking to the Dutch originals despite using both supported import methods?
Is there any required step or limitation in the WPML Export & Import process that prevents translations from linking after the default language is already imported?
Is it required to import all languages at the same time in one file to get proper linkage, or is post-import linking (via TRID) still supported?
If you believe you have completed the task correctly, could you please share the file you prepared for import with us so we can review it?
You can upload it to a service like Google Drive or Dropbox and share the link with me. For this, I'll enable a private message for the following reply.

Itamar.
