This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is using ACF Pro to create a custom post type with two taxonomies. When translating a taxonomy term slug from English to French, the client encounters an error message stating that the slug is already in use by another term, preventing them from using the same slug in both languages.

Solution:
1. Navigate to WPML → Taxonomy Translation and select the taxonomy you wish to translate using the drop-down menu.
2. Click the plus icon to add or adjust the translations. Here, you can remove the '-fr' from the French slug.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue:
1. Go to Posts → Categories.
2. Choose the French language and edit the category to adjust the slug.

Using ACF Pro, I have created a new Post type and have added two taxonomies to this post type. My site is using WPML for translation.
Example: Post type name is Branches, the Taxonomies for Branches are, Countries and Networks. An example of a Category added to the Countries taxonomy is South Africa. In English the slug for South Africa is south-africa, and in french the slug is south-africa-fr. If I want to change "south-africa-fr" to "south-africa" then a message saying "The slug “south-africa” is already in use by another term."

Is there a setting I can disable which will allow for two or more terms to have the same slug?

Please go to WPML → Taxonomy Translation and use the drop-down menu to select which taxonomy to translate. Then, click the plus icon to add or adjust the translations (you can remove -fr).

If it doesn't work that way, go to Posts → Categories, choose the language to French and edit the category in order to adjust it.
