[Resolved] Assigning different footer widgets in Neve theme per language
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to configure different footer widgets per language on your site. Specifically, you want 'Product Categories' to show translated categories, which currently do not display, and to customize the newsletter widget differently for each language. Solution: 1) To set up different widgets for each language, please follow the steps outlined in this guide: Translating Widgets. 2) To help us better understand your site configuration and assist you more efficiently, please provide your Debug information. You can find a detailed explanation on how to do this here: Provide Debug Information.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also suggest checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I'm trying to have different footer widgets per language on my site hidden link. For example, 'Product Categories' is translated, but the different categories are not displayed even though they are translated too. Also, there's a footer widget for subscribing to a newsletter. I would like to add a different format and different mailing list to each footer widget for the newsletter.
Symptoms:
The translated categories are not displayed in the footer widget, and there is a concern that the links might lead to the wrong page.
Questions:
Can you describe how to configure different footer widgets per language?
How can I ensure that the translated categories are displayed correctly?
How can I add a different format and mailing list to each footer widget for the newsletter?
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
1) Please check this guide to know the steps of creating widgets per language.
2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.
The widget's issue is partially resolved now, but I'm still having issues with Mailpoet. I learned however that they don't support WPML unfortunately.
These are a few issues I still have, of which some seem to be a bug.
1) In the english checkout menu (hidden link), the 'free shipping' is not translated. It still shows 'gratis verzending'. Despite the string translation is correct on all locations in the backend.
2) In the same menu, the text in the box for 'order notes' also still displays Dutch. Which also is translated correctly in the backend string translation.
3) I have issues with the site's name and default e-mail address that is used in different languages. The site's standard name in Dutch is Demanchetknopenshop.nl which is correctly translated to House of Cufflinks on most places. The standard e-mail address is info@demanchetknopenshop.nl. However for the Woocommerce e-mails it isn't translated. There it still shows Demanchetknopenshop.nl and info@demanchetknopenshop.nl instead of the English name and e-mail address.
Best,
Thomas

We try to keep one issue per ticket in our forum. Continuing with one ticket per issue helps supporters focus on one issue at once and enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.
Therefore, I've split the other issues and created new tickets with these issues.
