Background of the issue:
I have changed the menu in Elementor, but the changes are not shown in the translations. The language bar is also missing when visiting a translated page. You can see the issue on this page: hidden link.

Symptoms:
The changes I made in the Elementor header style are not reflected in the translations. Additionally, the language switcher is missing on some translated pages.

Questions:
Why are the changes in the Elementor header not appearing in the translations?
Why is the language switcher missing on some translated pages?

Thanks for contacting us. It looks like the translated page is not using the correct Elementor header.

Could you refer to this documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/ and make sure that you've translated the header template correctly?

As for the missing language switcher, could you share the URL of the page in question? Also, please check the translated page and make sure it is in the "published" state.

that worked, but now I changed the default language in WPML. At first it was English, but I want it to be Dutch instead. I did that, but now when I try to edit the homepage in Dutch, I get this message: hidden link

Thanks for your reply. You shouldn't edit your translated page directly. Use the Advanced Translation Editor instead. Only edit your translated page directly if you wish to manually translate the page as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Thanks for your reply. You can edit the translated page freely without issues using the method I mentioned here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
