I opened this chat in the past days but I could not find anything useful in the documentation given by your supporter.

In order to build my custom language selector I need to know if the translated page retains in some way, as metadata or custom field, the url of the original page in the primary language.
(I imagine Wpml needs this reference to sync pages)

This would be essential from the crossposted site to come back to the main language site.

Thank you for help!

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

The translated pages do not retain the URL of the original in any way.
Translations are normal posts in wp_posts, and they are connected with the original through "trid", a value in the table icl_translations.

You can see how WPML connects translations here https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

Please consider we can provide limited support with your case since it involves custom coding. You might consider hiring one of our contractors https://wpml.org/contractors/
