Hi again,

ACF custom fields have several translation modes, which affect the translation options.
My guess is that you set your field group to "Same fields across languages", which would set the translation option to "Copy", thus making the fields locked in secondary languages.

You probably want to set the translation mode to either "Different fields across languages", which will populate the secondary languages with the original language values, but make them editable, or "Expert" which will give you more control. This depends on your needs.
