Background of the issue:
We are trying to set up Cookie Consent to be compliant across our sites. We need information on the cookies WPML uses to function.
Symptoms:
Uncertainty about whether WPML's cookies need to be accepted for translations to work if a user rejects all cookies.
Questions:
Could you provide more information on the cookies WPML uses in order to function?
If a user on our site rejected all cookies, would the translation still function?
What category does the cookies need to be accepted for WPML to work?
Is the information on https://wpml.org/documentation/support/browser-cookies-stored-wpml/ updated since 2021, and does it refer to cookies stored by the plugin itself?
If a users refuses all cookies, WPML will continue working (meaning, they would be able to change language). If they refuse the cookie for Ajax filtering, part of the content might not appear as translated or it could be in mixed languages.
We can't tell you beforehand what might or not might be visible. It depends on how your site is built and if there are components that uses Ajax.
