Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my NL pages to EN and DE using WPML. The original translations in the advanced editor contain outdated texts that are not visible on the front page. I suspect this issue is related to my old theme, which is no longer active and has been removed, but might still have some content left.
Symptoms:
The original translations contain many old texts that are not shown on the front page.
Questions:
Is there any way to remove old content from the original translations in the advanced editor?

Hi,
If you update the original page (for example, by changing the title or editing the content) and then create a new translation job through WPML, as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#choose-what-to-translate
—WPML will generate a fresh translation job based on the current content of the original page.
This should remove any outdated texts from the Advanced Translation Editor, since it will now pull the latest content directly from the source.
Could you please try that and let us know if it helps?
clearly I tried that already; but it does not resolve it.
I have tried this multiple times with multiple pages.
Checking the back-end and nothing is there.
Also cleared cache and used other troubleshooting options but the old translation stay in there.
I have a suspicion this is my old theme (salient) that has some shortcode-blocks that are not properly removed or something. It is a lot of data and when i auto-translate requires a lot of unncessary credits.
update: i more specific i think this has to do with the previous page-builder that uses blocks and shortcodes to build certain designs. Now this builder is removed, but somehow WPML still tries to translate it, leading to bloated pages with often double the translation needs.
Hello!
Before one of my colleagues takes this ticket, I wanted to chip-in and mention something that may be of use to you.
If you go to WPML > Packages and filter there by page builder, you can remove the specific page builder package for the page that you have issues with and if the page had two page builders you can leave just one of them and the old obsolete strings should not be added in new translation jobs.
You can find your affected page by ID.
Please do remember to create backup - just in case - so that if you remove something more than initially desired you can have a way back.
