This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues with translating content that starts with numbers followed by dots (e.g., '1.1.') using WPML's Advanced Translation Editor, where such text remains untranslated in other languages, this might be due to a formatting issue recognized by the editor.
Solution:
We recommend removing the last dot after the number sequence. For example, change '1.1.' to '1.1' without a dot after the second number. This adjustment should make the sentences appear for translation in the Advanced Translation Editor. You can also use the search field in the editor to locate these specific sentences by searching for the dot (.).
Please note that this issue is fixed with the latest versions of the Advanced Translation Editor.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the problem: I am trying to translate content from Portuguese to English and French using Microsoft's option. The text includes items listed as '1.1', '1.2', etc. The problem can be seen on the page hidden link and compared to the translations at hidden link and hidden link.

Symptoms: Lines of text that start with 'N.N.' (e.g. '1.1.') are not being translated, while bulleted lists or other formats are being translated correctly. The text remains in Portuguese in both the English and French versions.

Questions: Why is text that starts with '1.1.' not being translated?

How can I fix the translation of items listed as '1.1', '1.2', etc.?

That page is a simple one created from scratch to test this issue, as we first noticied the issue on the terms and conditions page, that after updating this it stopped translatting it correctly on the 1.1, 1.2, etc starting texts.

The main page issue is at: hidden link

Witch the EN is wrong: hidden link

And the FR is wrongly translated as well: hidden link

As you can see any paragraph that starts with "1.1", or "1.2", etc is not translating the phrase entirely.

We have tested on both the engines Microsoft and DeepL same issue.

Hi,

I could replicate this problem. It is a problem with WPML's Advanced Translation Editor. Basically, if there is a dot (.) and a space after it before a sentence, the sentences are not showing for translation in the Advanced Translation Editor.

You can correct this by removing the last dot. For example, instead of 1.1. simply add 1.1 without a dot after the second 1 number.

You should also be able to find those sentences by searching in the search field for dot (.). I tried it on your site, and it worked. Please see the attached screenshot.

I've escalated this issue to our second-tier supporters and will keep you updated on any news regarding this issue.

I appreciate your patience.
Itamar.
