This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is unable to start automatic translation from the dashboard and can only translate pages and taxonomies individually. They attempted to change the translation mode to automatic in the settings without success.
Solution: We reviewed the client's site and found that there were no items marked as "Not Translated", "Needs Update", or "In Progress", except for 78 translations awaiting review. Additionally, there were 10 items in the Translation Basket, presumably sent for manual translation. We advised the client to: 1. Review the translations that are awaiting review. 2. Remove the items from the Translation Basket. 3. Check for any pending content that they wish to translate automatically. We also clarified that automatic translation works by default in the following scenarios: - New content. - Changes to existing content. - Re-translation of existing content by selecting it from WPML -> Translation Management and choosing "Translate automatically". If there are no changes in the content, there will be nothing to translate. We suggested that the client test this by changing some content in the site's default language or adding a new page/post. Upon further inspection, we noticed that the translation mode was set to manual in WPML -> Settings. To resolve this, the client can send content for automatic translation through WPML -> Translation Management, as detailed in the sending content for automatic translation documentation. We also noted that the products had been translated and were awaiting the client's review.
Please note that the solution provided might be irrelevant if it is outdated or not applicable to your case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
My problem is, I can't start automatic translation on dashboard, only per page and per taxonomy. I would like you to translate all pages and products. I tried to change the translation mode in settings to automatic, but i don't think it works.
Can you please explain a little more about the problem? Like what happens when you try to auto translate or turn on the automatic translation in WPML settings? Usually if you have credits available or using pay-as-you-go, you should be able to do this.
It'd be great if you can record your screen to show the problem.
Secondly, please also confirm that if the same issue happens with only WPML plugins and a default WordPress theme active in the site? Remember to take full backup of your site and database before trying this.
I tried to switch tranlation mode in settings and after I save the settings nothing is happening.
I had problems with credits before, but it solved and I can translate manually. Automatic translation, which translates all content on the page by itself, does not work. I entered the login details for the previous error ticket, they are still active, if that helps.
Thank you for the updates, I checked in your site and found that there's no content which is "Not Translated", "Needs Update" and/or "In Progress", except that there are 78 translations waiting for review.
Other than that, I see 10 in Translation Basket which I think you sent for manual translation (see attached).
So I'll suggest to review the translations awaiting already. Then remove the others from Translation Basket and see if you have any pending content which you want to translate automatically.
- New content.
- Changes to existing content.
- Or if you just want to translate again your content, in this case you can select the content from WPML -> Translation Management and select "Translate automatically".
If there's no new change in the content, it means there's nothing to translate.
So to test if it really works or not, change some content in site's default language or add a new page/post and let me know how it goes.
I attached a picture for, not all pages translated. Currently only "Tárolólódák" have products, but the link and the page not translated.
The jet filter also not translated and I don't even know if it works that way, since there is no translated product page where I can test it.
What do I need to set to translate these as well?
I think those are the different problems than the one reported originally about "can't start automatic translation". Can you please confirm if automatic translation in its own context is working and have you followed what I mentioned previously?
For the other problems like products and/or Jet filters not being translated, please open separate tickets because as per forum policy we can only handle one issue per ticket. So you can get more to the point help, without mixing up several issues in one long ticket.
Okay, then turned back.
I selected "Translation Mode" to be automatic, now it added the products that have been entered into "Translation Management". Do I need to manually select these to translate them? This is how it should work, not automatically?
I just checked and see manual translation mode set in WPML -> Settings, perhaps that was after you sent your message (i.e. switched back to manual)? - see attached.
Thanks for Your support.
Now we are stucked in other issues. May I ask to not close this conversation and return to this topic tomorrow please?
We will check progress tomorrow and return to You. Also is it possible to have a 30 minutes long meeting on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss everything online and prevent long converstaion history?
Sure please take your time and let me know when ready.
Unfortunately there are no particular meeting arrangements available, but you can join over the chat and ask the supporter with reference to this ticket.
