This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where WPML requires content to be translated twice, leading to excessive usage of translation credits.
Solution:
1. We could not verify the issue based on the provided video and messages. If the problem persists, please send another video with detailed steps showing how the content is created before being exported and where the duplicated segment appears in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE).
2. A temporary workaround involves opening the post with duplicated elements in Elementor, making a small change, and saving it. This action should remove any duplicated occurrences.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hey there,

Before taking this to second tier, can you please share concrete examples of the unexpected behavior happening after you last receive the credits?

Thank you.

The screenshots I sent were taken after I received the credit.
I can look up and send the links to the pages if needed.

I have realized that the support team assumed there was duplicate content sent for translation on my side, but it's not the case: WPML interface duplicates sections of a page on its own.

The example you have is sufficient, thanks for clarifying. I'm checking with second tier and will be back as soon as I need or have new information. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Lucas,

I didn't have any news from the second tier yet. Is this waiting time normal ?

Thanks

Hey there,

Yes, it usually takes a few days for them to analyze and get back. We've force updated some of your content, to remove the duplicated segments. I've checked on the hidden link page, and the issue was resolved.

Please let me know if you find any other occurrence of this issue, or if you have any other questions.

Hi Lucas,

Thanks for your answer.
Actually, the problem is not resolved. For some reason there's no duplicate on the article you have checked, but on all the other blog articles, the segments are still repeated twice in the wpml editor.

Thank you for sharing. In this case, please send me a couple of examples (3 ideally), so we can test different solutions and check if they actually work globally in your website. I know this is taking some time, so I really appreciate your cooperation on this matter.

The post's URL, as well as a screenshot showing which segment showing duplicated.

Hi Lucas,

Here are the screenshots (couldn't upload more that 4) and addresses you requested.

Actually, I think I understood the problem.
These blog post were exported from another WP website, where they were done with the WP editor. On my current site (the one you know), I have rewritten these posts using Elementor.
It looks like for some reason, WPML sees the previous content, which he identifies as "Classic text" as opposed to "Text" which the one edited with Elementor.

This would explain that on the article the second tier "cleaned" as you labeled, the old content from WP was removed.

This is my hypotheses, but I might be wrong.

Thank you so much for adding these important details. I've forwarded that to 2nd tier and will let you know as soon as I hear from them.

Hi Lucas,

i have no news from the 2nd tiers. The ticket I opened with you is the second related to this problem, so it's now about 3 weeks I'm waiting for a solution...

On the site it says that it is quicker to open tickets one by one, but I have deadlines and other questions with WPML, so should I open a new one?

Hey there,

I'm checking with 2nd tier if there's any update on the progress of your ticket. I apologize, that it's taking us a while to find a permanent solution to your issue. This situation is a bit unusual and falls outside our regular debugging workflow, so it's taking longer than usual I'll let you know once I hear from them and appreciate your patience.

Regarding the other issues, yes, please open new tickets for them. This way, we can work in parallel.

Hey there,

Thank you for waiting. We were able to check the issue in the pages you shared and noticed that updating the posts fixes that. Unfortunately, we could not reproduce the behavior on fresh installations, which indicates that there's something on your website causing that.

In order to debug the issue further, I kindly ask you to record a video, showing how the issue you can be reproduced on our side. Since you shared:

"These blog post were exported from another WP website, where they were done with the WP editor. On my current site (the one you know), I have rewritten these posts using Elementor.
It looks like for some reason, WPML sees the previous content, which he identifies as "Classic text" as opposed to "Text" which the one edited with Elementor."

Please record a video, using Loom, showing this happening from scratch, so we can understand and recreate the issue on our side.

Hi Lucas,

I've recorded the video.

However, the text elements that were previously duplicated (text + classic blocks) don't show up this time as text in the WPML editor, but as paragraph (although it's text on the original post).
So I couldn't reproduce the issue but found another one...

Btw I have used a plugin called WP Sweep thinking that it might clean up the extra classic blocks from the WP editor, but it didn't work.

There might be a solution of this kind, as I remember you wrote me on the 29th avril that the second tier "forced the update" and it was successful for the post they worked on.

Please let me know asap as this problem lasts for too long...

By the way, the idea I suggested of the problem lying in the export of the WP post is probably misleading.

Indeed, the posts I exported from the old site were mostly rewritten in the new site. This means the supposedly duplicated blocks from wp should not have the same content as the text blocks (supposedly from Elementor) whereas now, they are exactly the same.
