Background of the issue:
I am trying to link a blog post that is an en_US translated version to another page, which is an auto-created en_US version with no translation. The blog post is located at hidden link. The link in question is hidden link.

Symptoms:
Every time I enter the link to the en_US page, it automatically changes back to 'en', resulting in a link rewrite to hidden link. Previously, all variations of the link worked, but now they are being rewritten.

Questions:
Has something changed recently that has impacted the link behavior?
Why is the link rewriting from en_US to en?
