This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After resetting WPML, the old translated posts are still visible in the Translation Dashboard, but not under Posts in WordPress. The translations seem to be mislabeled as English instead of German.
Solution:
We recommend manually deleting the German content from the Translation Dashboard. This step is necessary because the German content was not deleted before resetting WPML, which caused it to be mislabeled as English. After manually deleting the content, you can proceed with the regular translation process for selected posts using PTC of version 2.8.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to reset WPML on my site hidden link to delete all translations and perform a new translation of the complete website using PTC of version 2.8. I want to be selective and not translate all posts, only selected ones.

Symptoms:
After resetting WPML following the official instructions, the old translated posts are still visible in the Translation Dashboard. In WordPress, under Posts, there are no posts in the secondary language German shown, only in the Translation Dashboard. But clicking on view in the Translation Manager only takes me to the English Homepage. So, the translation does not seem to exist anymore...

Questions:
How do I get rid of the old post entries in the Translation Dashboard?
How can I perform a new translation of the website using PTC of version 2.8? (Note, this time, I will not translate all Posts, but only selected.)

From what I can see, the German content wasn't deleted before resetting WPML, so when you re-configured it all the content was labelled as English. That's the expected behavior.

The only thing you can do now is to manually delete the German content, and then proceed with the regular translation process.
