Rank Math generates the default Sitemaps only and WPML takes care of the rest. When a search engine bot visits any post/page, it is shown hreflang tag that helps it crawl the translated pages. This is one of the recommended methods by Google. Please read here
this is what rank math is saying, i need more information regarding this.
i was using gtranslate and had multiple sitemap for each language but with having wpml, how does it work?

Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While one of my colleagues picks up this ticket, I’d like to provide some initial debugging steps and see if I can assist you right away.

As mentioned here https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/optimize-multilingual-websites-using-rank-math-and-wpml/#sitemaps-and-wpml , WPML handles multilingual sitemaps and hreflang tags automatically. You don’t need to take any action.

Please make sure you've followed the getting started section here https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/optimize-multilingual-websites-using-rank-math-and-wpml/#getting-started , especially the WPML SEO add-on that needs to be installed.

Furthermore, to help speed up the support process, I've enabled a private message for submitting the debug information for this support ticket. Please follow these initial debugging steps:
https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/
In short:
- Go to "WPML > Support > Debug Information" (link)
- Copy the Debug Information from there.
- Find the private field I activated and paste that information.
