Background of the issue:
I am trying to display images and a carousel on translated pages. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I expected to see the slider like on the original French version: hidden link.

Symptoms:
Carousel not displayed on the translated version.

Questions:
Why are some media not appearing on the translated version?
How can I ensure the slider displays correctly on translated pages?

Hello,

Can you please elaborate on how the slider is created? Is it part of the theme or from a plugin (which one)? How is the slider added to the page?

To be able to investigate the problem, we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation.

I created a clean installation of WordPress, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons.

You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below:
hidden link

Kindly follow the steps below:

- Don't restore your site there.
- Install the theme or needed plugins to recreate the problem
- Try to replicate the issue with minimal steps.
- Then let me know the steps to see the problem and reproduce it.

Best Regards,
Otto

Hi Otto,
Thank you for your reply.
I have not created the site and I am just n charge of translating it.

However, I know that the slider is added with ACF so I suppose that this is where the problem lies.

As I explained, as I have not created this site, it would be difficult for me to recreate it, even on a sandbox installation.

Is there another way we could troubleshoot this problem?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for the clarification.

Most sliders created with **ACF image, gallery, or repeater fields stop appearing on translated pages when the field-group’s “Translation preferences” are not set to Copy or Translate. I suggest reviewing the following documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/

And specifically check:
1.
• Go to ACF → Field Groups → (Slider group).
• For each image/gallery/repeater field used by the slider, click the gear icon and set Translation preferences to:
• Copy if the same slider should appear in every language, or
• Translate if each language will have its own images.
• Save the field group.
• Edit the English home page in the WPML Translation Editor, finish the translation, and click Complete so WPML re-sends the correct image IDs.

2.
• Navigate to WPML → Settings → Media Translation.
• Check “Duplicate existing media for translated content” and “Duplicate featured images”.
• Click Start to scan and assign all French attachments to English.
• Flush any page-builder or site cache and reload the English page.

If none of these help, I would like to request temporary access to your site to take a better look at the issue.
It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site.
This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.

**IMPORTANT**
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields.

Best Regards,
Otto
