Background of the issue:
Hi WPML team,

I noticed that today's update for WPML Multilingual CMS included both new features and a security fix related to the language switcher.

While we really appreciate your ongoing improvements, I’d like to suggest that in the future, security patches be released separately from feature updates. In many setups (including ours), we have a defined waiting period before applying feature updates – typically around 7 days – to avoid unexpected issues in production environments.

However, for security-related updates, we prefer to act immediately. Releasing them independently would make it much easier and safer for us to apply important fixes without delay.

Thanks for considering this!
Best regards
