[Resolved] Translated page is returning a 404 and review button infinite loading
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing issues where the translate button results in infinite loading, and the contact us page shows a 404 error despite being published. Solution: First, we recommend navigating to WP > Settings > Permalinks and resaving the settings. This action can often resolve unexpected issues with page loading and accessibility.
If the problem persists, the next step involves using the WPML troubleshooting tools. Please follow these steps: 1. Clear the cache in WPML. 2. Remove ghost entries from the translation tables. 3. Fix element_type collation. 4. Fix WPML tables collation. 5. Set language information. 6. Fix terms count. 7. Fix post type assignment for translations.
These actions are accessible via WPML > Support > Troubleshoot link. After performing these steps, please check if the issues are resolved.
It's important to ensure that you have a recent backup before making these changes. We recommend using the UpdraftPlus plugin for this purpose.
If these solutions do not resolve the issue, or if they seem outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, please visit our known issues page and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem continues, we encourage you to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Thanks for contacting us. Please navigate to WP > Settings > Permalinks > Resave it and let me know if this fixes it.

Thanks for your reply. I'm able to open the German language contact us page here hidden link without issues, as shown in the attached screenshot. Could you please try again with your browser cache cleared?
Thanks for your reply. I reviewed the German language page and it shows up here now hidden link . However, I can see the German language is showing as waiting for review.
Hi Kor, thank you so much. That's amazing! How were you able to fix it? Can you teach me how you were able to fix it so I can replicate the same steps in case a similar situations occurs in the future?
Also, yes for sure. Except for the ACF plugin, deactivating the other plugins wont really break the site.
We also just recently published the korean translated pages. The homepage in particular doesn't show the korean option in the language switcher nav. Can you help? thank you
Hi we've encountered a very weird issue of some texts not appearing in the ATE. Client ran into a few issues when selecting German as the language: On the solution pages, the content in the slider remains in English. He checked WPML, and it seems that the content doesn’t even exist there, so the system isn’t recognizing it. He tried updating the pages in the translation management tab, but the content is still missing. It’s odd because on some pages it works perfectly.
Example of pages that was translated fully: (same blocks, same structure) hidden link hidden link
Example of pages with leftover english: (same blocks, same structure) hidden link hidden link hidden link hidden link hidden link hidden link hidden link hidden link
He is also unable to complete or review the pages because of the pages. Here is a screenshot showing the error message he keeps encountering.
Thanks for your reply. I've run the troubleshooting options listed below and I'm able to review the Korean language homepage. However, you've configured it as hidden as shown in the attached screenshot in WPML > Languages > Hide languages. Could you uncheck the languages that you need?
As for the other issues, please try retranslating the posts and let me know if it works now.
Hi Kor, we decided to temporarily hide the Korean language because of the homepage bug where it wasn’t appearing in the language switcher.
I think you might’ve missed my earlier question so I’ll ask again. How did you fix the 404s and the missing language option in the switcher? Could you walk me through the steps so I can replicate them if a similar issue comes up in the future?
Also, I noticed there are now several draft pages in another language (not English) even though I specifically set it to show only English.
Do you have an idea what caused this and how to fix this?
Thanks for your reply. I resaved the permalinks to fix the issue. You need to review the translated pages before it will appear on the language switcher. Also, take note that you've set your secondary languages hidden.
Thanks for your reply. The issue seems to be fixed when I run the options listed below in WPML > Support > Troubleshoot link. Could you check?
1. Clear the cache in WPML.
2. Remove ghost entries from the translation tables.
3. Fix element_type collation.
4. Fix WPML tables collation.
5. Set language information.
6. Fix terms count.
7. Fix post type assignment for translations.
Hi can you take a look at this page as to why it is not translating properly?
There is still remnant english in this page no matter how much i try to run it through the automatic translation, is there some sort of cache going on?
