[Escalated to WPML Developers team] Warning: You are about to edit your translation using the standard WordPress editor but your site is...
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit translations on my site, hidden link, using the standard WordPress editor. I want to always use this editor instead of the WPML Translation Editor.
Symptoms:
Warning: You are about to edit your translation using the standard WordPress editor but your site is configured to use the WPML Translation Editor. Any edits you do here will be lost if you later open it in the WPML Translation Editor.
Questions:
Why do I get this message?
How can I always edit in the standard WordPress editor?
Thank you for your patience. I checked this with a clean installation and I could not replicate the same issue that you are experiencing regarding that warning message.
I wonder if we are allowed to copy your website to ourserver so we can do investigation on what might be different on your website?
Thanks so much for all your effort. Yes, that would be ok!
While working on the website, I came across the issue again on my Home page (see screenshot). As you can see it does not have the icon pencil to click on, but the two arrows circle. When I click on that, I get the same warning.
I reported the issue to the second-tier support. I managed to replicate the issue on a clean installation.
I will get back with the result, but most probably a fix will be available in the upcoming release of WPML, but I will get back to you with an official answer.
The issue is confirmed by our second-tier support and escalated to the development team.
A fix will be available in the upcoming versions of WPML.
Usually, it is decided by the critical nature of the issue, as this issue will not prevent you from translating your website, the priority will most probably be lower.
